Hello Nicole The first place to check is the Tasmanian Convicts database. At present it is only available on CD, but it is intended that it will be available online on the Archives Office of Tasmania Website by the beginning of 2006. IN the meantime, if you post the name and other details about your GGGG grandfather's brother to this list, someone may be kind enough to look up his details on the CD for you. You could also check the Convicts Permissions to Marry index which is already online - see http://resources.archives.tas.gov.au/archmarriage/default.asp. We have discovered that my great great great great grandfathers brother was apparently shipped out to Tasmania as a convict from England in about 1816. Where can I start my search?? I only have online access??
