    2. Melanie Steer
    3. Dear List Following is information on my next two Tasmanian convicts: Rosetta FARRELL was born between 1821 - 1824 in London. She had two brothers, William and Charles and a sister, Catherine. She worked as an actress at the Adelphi Theatre for a few years but her occupation is given as a House and Nurse Maid. She was tried at CCC for larceny - pledging from Mrs Reynolds at Islington and was sentenced to 7 years. She arrived per "Garland Grove" on 20 January 1843 and was given a 3rd Class pass in April 1844. In November 1844 she was absent without leave at Bennison (?) and sentenced to solitary confinment. She received her Ticket of Leave on 25 May 1845 and her Certificate of Freedom on 8 November 1855. David WILLIAMS was born in Denbigh, Wales around 1814. His occupation was given as Stone Mason and Quarryman and he was tried for Manslaughter at the Denbigh Assizes Quarter Session on 8 August 1836. Sentenced to 14 years he arrived in Tasmania per "Blenheim" on 21 July 1837 and assigned to the Loan Gang. He received his Ticket of Leave on 21 June 1844. David and Rosetta were given permission to marry on 22 March 1845 and the ceremony took place at St George's Church of England, Hobart on 22 April 1845. They had the following known children: David William born 31 August 1845; Francis Evan born 14 September 1847 and married to Mary MOLONY on 28 June 1869; Rosetta born 17 December 1849; Walter Charles Henry born 13 December 1856 who married Mary Ann ECCLES on 14 February 1878 and; Amy Amanda born 1 July 1861 who married James William Edward MARTIN on 18 November 1878. I believe David died on 29 May 1879 in High Street, Hobart and was buried at Cornelian Bay Cemetery. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a death for Rosetta and think she may have travelled to the mainland with one of her children. I would be happy to hear from anyone with information on any of the above people. Regards, Melanie Bowral NSW
