Hello all I have located the map of Cascades with a burial ground marked which I referred to yesterday (ref AOT, LSD 1/47 p.296). Attached is a letter from Bishop Willson dated 2 January 1844 which states: I beg leave to recommend for your consideration, a piece of land situated near the Cascade Factory [that marked on the map] to be endorsed for a Burial Ground in order that the Children may be interred there, instead of Trinity Parish Burial Ground. There is plenty of land belonging the Govt near the factory, which would be suitable. The Comptroller General aggress to survey 2 acres of the land for a burial ground. It is still not certain, however, that this went ahead. Thus, it appears that the infants who died at the nurseries were buried at Trinity Parish Burial Ground (where Campbell St Primary School is now situated) at least prior to 1844 (and possibly afterwards).
