Hi everyone, I’m new to the list and was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice regarding the Tasmanian convicts? I’ve just discovered that my family of ‘Williams’ came from Tasmania and the furthest I’ve gone back so far is to a JOHN WILLIAMS who married in Tasmania to MARGARET DOYLE in 1855. I haven’t been able to find the marriage record yet and discover who his parents were etc, which I know I’ll need to do, but I was just wondering how I could perhaps discover if he may have been descended from a convict?
