    3. And Trudy, the other odd things were...... 1.Michael Carr wrote in his petition, that his wife was sentenced to LIFE. But the NSW records show her as a 7 year transportee. 2. The Principal Superintendent of Convicts N.S.W (Hely) said that Catherine was being held in the Female Factory. But two inquiries found that she was not there. So where was she? And why was her sentence reduced, if indeed so, and how did she get to choof off to Tasmania to join her husband, who had Wm Moriarty, and James Scott (colonial Surgeon) both backing him, and the captain of a vessel who was prepared to bring his wife down from Sydney. And Colonel Arthur didn;t even blink over this request. It was granted with the least amount of enquiries held. Indicators are suggesting that influence was brought to bear in this case. I am wondering now if there is a seperate set of registers held for convicts brought down from N.S.W.
