    3. Hi All, Does anyone know if Tasmanian early marriage certificates such as 1834 and 1837 list the parents names of both the bride and groom or are they like early Victorian marriage certificates where the parents are not listed. Hope someone can help me. Anne Hanson annehanson@hotkey.net.au

    3. Hi Anne, It wasn't normal practice to list parents of either party to a marriage. But I have found one case where the parents were named. Sometimes family relationships can be gleaned from the witnesses to the ceremony or the location of the ceremony if not conducted in a church. Pre 1900 certificates are freely available on film at most State libraries.
