Hi all new to this list. Tracing Philip Levy transported on Surrey (2) 1829 to Tasmania. Was a shoemaker of Liverpool Street Hobart Town. May have been in business with William Henson, There were 2 Philip Levy's in the colony at the time, the one I am tracing is the one married to Leah Lazarus and father of Lewis, Asher, Isaac and Sarah. He was a member of the Hobart Synagogue in 1844. Although he married Leah I can not find reference to this. My Philip Levy moved to NZ with some of his family and died in 1865 in New Zealand as reported in "The Mercury" November 25th, 1865. Leah Lazarus arrived on the Boadicea in 1834 with her sister Julia. They were parasol makers from London. Any help would be appreciated.
