    3. Hi Valerie I am not sure if ours are related, but it struck me as I have Samuel Nelson Watson b. Co Tyrone 1837(mother Eliza or Elizabeth Cochran, father John Watson) marrying Mary Ann Hughes (b. Green Ponds (Kempton) Tasmania 10/10.1838.They married at Bakery Hill Ballarat, 1856. They named their first child William, and the name was repeated throughout the following generations. I have been wondering whether my Samuel came to Australia alone, I haven't found him in convict lists so far. I believe there is a book called From Ben Nevin ??? to Little Rock which tells the story of this family. Mary Ann is buried at Little Rock (Rothwell, Vic) I think I found it listed on the Geelong Council website with a link to the cemetary. Mary Ann's mother is a bit of a mystery to me at the moment but she is possibly Banks or Farrell. Did Ellen have a sister named Mary Ann, by any chance ?? The mother's name may have been Martha. It's a long shot, but worth a try. 1. [TAS-CONVICTS] Trivia re William GOULD....
    2. PAULINE SHIPTON
    3. Just browsing through my Bookclub brochure and found the following: The blurb reads..... "In 1828 there was a man named William Buelow Gould, a white convict who fell in love with a black woman and discovered too late that to love is not safe. Silly Billy, invader of Australia (per Asia 3 to VDL), liar, murderer and forger, blahblah" Anyway, the book about him is called "Gould's Book of Fish" - a novel in 12 fish by Richard Flanagan. Thought I'd post the above for any Gould researchers who may not be aware of the book. Cheers, Pauline [email protected] Howlong, NSW

    3. Hi Ruth Do you have an antivirus program ??? It sounds to me as if you are being blocked.... If you don't have one, do a search with the subject "virus" and you will find heaps of free downloads (free trials) on virus scanners/checkers. You might be way ahead of me here, but I have just spent the past week being educated on this subject, and the law of averages tells me I am not alone. Those who learned these lessons sooner than I sit nodding their heads in understanding. While I'm on the subject, to all those lovely gen-friends who wrote to me last week, empathizing with me and sharing their learning curves, you made it a soft landing.....
