    3. Hmm......are Ellen Woods & Ellen Quill the same person? I would suggest a that it could be possible but you would need to check her convict records for evidence. There is no marriage for John Chew & Ellen Woods on the Tasmanian Pioneer Index. The children born to John Chew & Ellen Quill are from 1853 - 1863. The children born to John Chew & Ellen Woods are from 1865 - 1870. regards, Meryl Yost, Launceston, Tasmania ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Administrator: AUS-Tasmania mailing list http://www.rootsweb.com/~austashs/home/maillist.htm E-mail: [email protected] AUS-Tasmania Genealogy pages http://www.rootsweb.com/~austashs/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maria & Mick" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 18, 2002 6:55 PM Subject: [TAS-CONVICTS] CHEW/QUILL/WOODS > Hi > I'm new to the list and through a fortunate circumstance I connected with another family member in Tasmania. I also found through the online Tas. archives a match with the information I was given. I have one confusion I have John CHEW arriving on 'Ratcliffe' in 1848 at Hobart. He married Ellen QUILL (who arrived on 'Blackfriar' in 1851 at VDL. The marriage took place in 1853 On the archives there is also a John CHEW m Ellen WOODS about 1865. But Ellen CHEW nee QUILL died in 1903 in Hobart. Is there anyone who can confirm the dates and marriages I have gleaned, or suggest where I can search further.? Thank you Maria Central Coast NSW

    1. [TAS-CONVICTS] Hotmail again
    2. Listers the problem with hotmail addresses bouncing is not going away. I can only suggest that ALL hotmail subscribers switch over to the digest mode. This at least enables you to keep a track of what mail is not getting through. The address is: (Insert list name)[email protected] Don't forget to unsubscribe from the list mode first The address is: (Insert list name)[email protected] All posts to the list are contained in the body of one email that is numbered. I keep two of each digest in the respective folder so that when the next one comes in I know whether there is any missing because of those digest numbers. If the numbers don't correspond then you send for the archive that is missing. You can only obtain the archived digest if you are subscribed in the digest mode. To obtain the archived digest send an email to: (Insert list name)[email protected] in the subject line type ONLY the word archive in the body of the email type ONLY the following ... get volume02/*** (replace the *** with the number of the digest that you want) There is NO SPACE between the word volume and the 02. (The 02 signifies the year 2002.) Bright Blessings Sandie List Administrator

Those who are unable to attend are invited to give the same support from the privacy of their own homes. ===== ===== http://mobile.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo! 3. Hi Jacky I think its fairly unlikely unfortunately. William Watson would have been born in 1823 (not sure where) Ellen Farrell (b1827 in Kerry) did have a sister Mary (my 3x gt) Mary married in Tassie and then came on the NZ with her family in 1860. As far as I know Ellen married William Watson . I have found them having children in Oatlands (nr Hobart ) and Ellen died in I think 1879. I will keep you on file just in case.
