Hello I am trying to find information on a Jane Sayer born around 1858. She married in 31 Dec 1878 in Dimboola to Thomas Parfett, also supposedly born Mt Gambier 1855. (father Charles Parfett mother Elizabeth Gardner). He is aged 23 on marriage cert. single, and a farmer of Kiata. Jane's father is given as John Sayer, labourer on the marriage cert, but it states that she was under the guardianship of W.H. Neufrey (hard to read, would love some help deciphering). for 15 years. She is a single woman, servant of Kiata when she marries. Age is given as 20 for her, she cannot sign her name. Jane is not the one on the SA birth index born c1861. Any suggestions, I did find a marriage of a John Sayre in 1861 to a Norah Daley, and the death of John a couple of months later in 1861 in Port Adelaide. Are guardianship records likely to be available. Family story is that the guardian was a minister of religion. Regards Lyn Baker
