    1. [AUS-SAGEN] Can you help break my crazy brickwall?

    3. Hi all, I have done a lot of research and consider myself a good researcher. However, I have 1 bizzare mystery I can't solve. I don't know when or where my maternal great grandmother died! This is strange as she is not some distant ancient ancestor. It's also strange my mum and her sisters don;t know either, though they would have been young when she died. Perhaps someone out there can help. Here's what I know; Name: Maude Caroline SAVAGE nee COATESBorn: 4 September 1888, NaracoorteParents: Edward COATES and Elizabeth "Bessie" Ovalu INGLISSpouse: Laurence "Laurie" SAVAGE. Married 17 Dec 1915 in Maryborough, QueenslandChildren: John (Jack) Wallington Laurence SAVAGE (b1917 QLD, d1966 SA) and Pera Margaret Grace SAVAGE (b. c1920 QLD, d1928 SA) Locations: Despite being married in QLD and births of their children there, all other events happened in South Australia, so I believe she died in SA (I have considered she didn't). They lived on Drayton St, Brompton for at least 1928-1943. She must have died after 1950 as I found her in the 1950 SA Electoral Roll in the Hindmarsh electorate and Hindmarsh district. But not afterwards. She is not buried with husband Laurence; I checked by paying a visit to the Dudley Park Cemetery office where he was buried. I found a 1943 mention of her in Trove for shoplifting, but that's all! I doubt she would have remarried in her 70s..... I hope someone out there can help! Thanks from Whistler, BC, Canada! 3. Hi Tim, I have the exact same problem with my gggrandmother. She appeared to have left her husband and disappeared. I have come to accept that she must have died as an unknown, probably alcoholic. The fact that your lady was done for shoplifting suggests to me it might be a similar case. Good luck. 1. [AUS-SAGEN] SAVAGE - Can you help break my crazy brickwall?

    3. Hi Tim, Just doing a quick search around the state department websites for historical bmd's. There is a possible death registration in New South Wales, in Auburn district, which is a suburb of Sydney. New South Wales has an odd system where they don't give the surname of parents on the database. It can make it hard to find people. You can order the certificate online, and it used to be sent out. I don't know if they have upgraded to being able to pay and then download it. Details below. Reg. No. 33539/1965 Savage, Maud, father's given name unknown, mother's given name Elizabeth, District Auburn. http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/bdm_fh.html website above. In searching I've used Maud, Maude, Caroline and both Savage and Coates. I also checked New Zealand, and used both her surname and maiden name, but no results that matched there.
