With the recent postings about flour mills I thought this tale might be amusing to some on this list My paternal line ...William Henry HALL built the first house at Snowtown He then became the first elected mayor (the first was government "appointed), school inspector, JP etc etc The family story goes that the Snowtown flour mill he was involved with shared ownership was sold off The workers did not like the new owners. The tale is that the boiler was stoked up and a nail put in the safety valve to stop it working. After the workers retired to the hotel for refreshments apparently a while later there was a large explosion and the mill demolished! Flour in dust form can be a mighty explosive!!!!! Alan Melbourne
