    3. No offence to the museum owners, as the museum is very interesting, but the place to go for information in Kapunda is the local library. The people there are really helpful, really knowledgeable, know the local resources available and have some great stuff on the shelves as well. This may be an indication of where the mill was. I went to the Kapunda Museum recently and the people I spoke to had moved to Kapunda in recent years. They had no information on the family I was researching, I'm thinking of printing up the photo I have and the obituary of the lady who spent many years in the town. At various times her sons were publicans, operated stables and one was the taxi proprietor. 3. Hi Teresa, YES and the Library staff that can help you are PAID staff not unpaid volunteers like the Kapunda Museum. Kind regards, Judy. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Kemp, Teresa A Sent: Wednesday, 14 August 2013 8:46 AM To: Heather; Morley; AUS - SAGEN Subject: Re: [AUS-SAGEN] Kapunda Flour Mill No offence to the museum owners, as the museum is very interesting, but the place to go for information in Kapunda is the local library. 1. [AUS-SAGEN] Kapunda records and Ryerson
    2. David and Sandra Bales
    3. I agree with Teresa. The library has a wonderful supply of records and the museum is excellent. Both are hard to access from NSW but I have made the trip a couple of times, ( once on a bicycle but that won't happen again), if only to see if my gr gr grandmother's black wedding dress is still near the entrance of the museum. ( Phillippa Meincke nee Bray) No doubt the museum struggles at times for volunteers as does any organisation especially in country towns. I wondered if Kapunda has a local paper that is indexed for Ryerson but there isn't any Kapunda paper being indexed. Even the Adelaide Advertiser only has indexed entries in Ryerson for 5 days since April 20, 2011.Only 4 other South Australian papers have ever been indexed and there are no entries for any South Australian paper since June 2012 in the Naracoorte Herald. Don't South Australians die? If you use the Ryerson Index and want to see if your paper is covered, on the Ryerson home page, top left corner click on Newspaper coverage and look for the paper of interest. I will pick the Adelaide Advertiser as an example as it tops the list. Click on the title. When that opens click on DETAILS OF DATES INDEXED. You will see the date of every issue that has been indexed. You might suddenly realise why the death you wanted to find isn't in Ryerson. Ryerson needs volunteers too. If you are interested in getting involved look at the item "So you want to be an indexer?" on the left side of the home page or "Can you help?" on the right hand side Regards David Central Coast NSW
