Hi Lyn I went to Boarding School in Adelaide in the early 80's with the Dominicans at Cabra. I remember a strong Carmelite Community up the Road from us on Cross Rd Glen Osmond. The Carmelites are a contemplative order and may be who you are looking for as they are often said to be a silent order I had a look on the web to see if they were still there as I no longer live in SA.
