Hi Anne I have been checking through the service record of Sydney William Brown (as suggested by Rhonda)and there is a letter saying that he died in Melbourne aged abt 40 - I think it is written by a Lorna Brant (formerly Brown) living in Oodnadatta - she talks about her father. There is a certified extract of a marriage certificate also. Hence I am not sure that the newspaper report is accurate. Robyn
