Hi Anne, I found that Sydney William Richard Brown was born in 1909 in Kent (does that sound right?) All their children were born in SA. Does your friend have her birth certificate? What did Sydney William Richard Brown do for a job - any ideas at all? The man she is searching for is Sydney William Richard Brown, he married Helen Elizabeth Jones and had came here from Graves End, Kent, England. They had 4 children, Pauline, 1920, Lorna,1922 Harold 1924 and Helen 1925. Helen is the only one alive. She tells me her father left about 1 or 2 years after she was born. He was working at the Tramways when she was born. Her mother remarried and died in 1980. She would dearly love to find out something about her father before she passes away. Her mother remarried 12.12.1931 and stated she was a widow. I cant find a death for him in South Australia, victoria or NSW. I did find a death notice for a Sydney Brown in the Register 11.2.1928 only family listed was sister Mrs F W Strickland I have checked Adelaide cemeteries Authorities, Centennial Park and the on line index for North Road and Payneham, Broken Hill If anyone can offer any help for this lady I am sure she would be very grateful.
