Hello listers, I am trying to find information about Mary Stuart Counsel born in Tasmania on 25 August 1886. I have a photograph by Anson Bros, Hobart of a child where the back of the photo was inscribed "Mary Stuart Counsel aged 14 months, October 1887". The photograph was sent to Charles Cameron Kingston (soon to be Premier of South Australia) who attended a meeting of the Federal Council in Hobart in early 1886 regarding federation. Ancestry.com shows the parents as Edward Albert Counsel, Surveyor and his wife, Mary Stuart Simpson. Mary was the fourth child.
