Following on from this email below to the List I have found since I sent it, that both William and Samuel ( Mt Gambier one ) HOLDING Were both born at Northamptonshire England so maybe related ? Also William's Father was John. Samuel married here in S.A. and his father was Samuel. Maybe their Father's were brothers, I may never ' crack' this one but worth a try. Hi All, Wondering if there is a Lister that is connected to the Above Family at all? Years ago a man who has deceased since, and was Samuel Holding's descendant and I were in touch and met up. He was going to give the Family Tree of His Holding to me, but as he was in a suburb of Adelaide and I,myself living in country S.A. it never happened. He didn't trust Australia Post to post it to me by snail mail. He died before it transpired and I never had his family / children's address so guess all of the Info went by the way. Unfortunate, we had been trying till he got Ill, to work out if his Holding was related to my Husband's Holding, seemed as if they came from different parts of England , BUT the shires were very close to each other, so who knows ??. Samuel and Jane HOLDING lived at Mt Gambier my husband's Holding's in Pt Pass, Eudunda, Sliding Rock. S.A. Geranium Plains ( near Robertstown S.A.) and two sons of William and Emma HOLDING nee THOMPSON in about 1890 went overland to Swan Hill district in Victoria And had more children and died over there. They were , Samuel and John Holding both married two sisters the WARNER girls. Hoping I can find a Lister out there that may be connected to the Mt Gambier Holding's, I believe quite a few of that family of Samuel and Jane nee BELL went over to W.A. to live.
