Where is / was the Chain of Ponds, North Adelaide I have a death cert saying died at North Adelaide, as does the death notice in th Register 1862, however a death ni\otice in a English newspaper says died at Chain of Ponds, North Adelaide. The man was a drinker and often disappeared for long stretches on binges, leaving his wife in Hindmarsh destitute, he is said to have regularily appeared at Christchurch, North Adelaide (his brother-in-lawwas Archdeacon Woodcock) looking for money and alcohol Helen

Hi Helen, Chain of Ponds was on the Adelaide-Mannum Road nr the Milbrook Res. The town is actually covered by the Reservoir Google 'where is Chain of Ponds" and you will see it [not the old town] :-) Last week in the local paper there was an article on this very subject.
