    3. Hi Helen, Chain of ponds was originally a township that is now below the Millbrook reservoir in Adelaide Hills. The bridge going across the river and other buidlings sometimes appear when the resevoir is very low. Today where the Gorge Rd and the Adelaide to Mannum Rd. intersect just above the Milbroook resevoir, adjacent to Mt Crawford Forest is classified as Chain of Ponds. There is no township nowadays. If you want to look at on google maps, enter in google maps search window : "adelaide-mannum road Gorge Rd, chain of ponds" OR "Mount Crawford Forest reserve" Its a long way from North Adelaide. Suggest the Nth Adelaide bit may have been a hospital in or near Nth Adelaide. Christ church is an Anglican Church in Jeffcott Street, North Adelaide adjacent to Christchurch lane off Palmer Place (extends from Palmer Place to Jeffcott st ) Enter in Google maps "Christ church near 35 Palmer Place North Adelaide" and this should get you close. regards Freda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Helen Carter" <helen.carter28@yahoo.com> To: <aus-sagen@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 10:07 PM Subject: [AUS-SAGEN] Chain of Ponds Where is / was the Chain of Ponds, North Adelaide I have a death cert saying died at North Adelaide, as does the death notice in th Register 1862, however a death ni\otice in a English newspaper says died at Chain of Ponds, North Adelaide. The man was a drinker and often disappeared for long stretches on binges, leaving his wife in Hindmarsh destitute, he is said to have regularily appeared at Christchurch, North Adelaide (his brother-in-lawwas Archdeacon Woodcock) looking for money and alcohol Helen Advertising on AUS-SAGEN is forbidden by Rootsweb Rules. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to AUS-SAGEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
