    3. Hi, Has anyone heard of the Golliwog Club? My grandparents were apparently members in the early part of the twentieth century in South Australia. My father has always thought it was some sort of theatrical club. I have found references to a Golliwog Club in Victoria but this was for the making of golliwogs to raise money during the war. Does anyone know anything about the Golliwog Club in SA? Cheers Josie

    3. Hi Josie, There is a mention of the Golliwog Club on National Library Newspapers The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1889-1931) (about) < Thursday 21 October 1915 - Page 12 COMFORTS FOR MEN IN THE TRENCHES. The Trench Comforts Committee thank the following, who sent in gifts and donations for comforts for the troops at Gallipoli. They were enabled to send to five units last month, which now makes 13 units in all to whom comforts have been forwarded.............................. per Miss Duggan, Golliwog Club, Mile End. This doesn't answer the question but puts the club in a locality for you......
