This is No 4a & 4b of 6 South Australian non-family photos in the album - more to come I have 2 photos one of Jane and the other of her Daughter both are Cartes de Viste Jane is by Otto von Hartitzsch 113 Rundle St Adelaide and her daughter is by the Paris Photographing Company Serial N0 9468 neither have explicit dating nor any annotation except for the index entry. My brief newspaper research points to this woman being the Jane Daniel who married Peter Petterson in 1885 Jane apprears to be in her thirties. Her daughter appears to be bout 5-8 years old. My guess is that the photos are dated about 1890-95. I have no idea why this photo is in the album. Since Jane is the same age as Joseph Clark jnr's children I can oly assume that the phoro was sent to then in Brisbane with correspondence. Happy to share the image (for non commercial use) with anyone with an established connection to Jane Daniels who may? have married Peter Petterson in 1885 in an attempt to verify the photo against any existing copies or likenesses held by family members.
