Dear Listers, I am trying to solve my riddle working from a different direction. THOMAS BROOKS and wife....came to South Australia on the Mariner in 1847. Apparently there was a shipping record published in the South Australian Register 29/9/1847...where it lists Thomas Brooks arrived with wife, and 3 children. As I still do not know the wife's name wonder if someone could look up marriages of those "unnamed children" with a father Thomas. One child Mary is listed as an adult, so she could have been a teenager....and I presume the other 2 children would have been younger. I have just looked again through my previous records and notice back in January 2007 I had written to the State library, they could not help me with names of the children, but apparently there was some information in the BISA records that the couple had another child on arrival with the name of JOHN but the researcher was unable to find any birth record for this child. Had a thought he may have died!! Sorry that this query is a bit messy, but who knows someone may find something for me. Kind regards, Sieglinde.
