    1. [AUS-SAGEN] marriage John Brooks/Martha Plush
    2. Sieglinde Boyce
    3. Dear Listers, As I am writing this letter, may have answered my own query after all those years. Can't remember where I received the details of this couple marrying in 1864. If you remember a couple of days ago I had asked for help regarding a John Brooks being born in South Australia after Thomas Brooks, wife and 3 children had arrived in SA. And there was a note to say that the couple had another child names JOHN after they arrived in 1847 but no birth record had been found. This may be the wrong John Brooks...but until someone looks this marriage up for me will not know. Hopefully it will list the father as Thomas and may even have the mother's maiden name (wishful thinking!!) What intrigued me was the place of marriage: SIEGERSDORF...my translation would be victory village or something similar. By the way where is this place. They were married at the Residence of John Waddingter (Plus)?? I would appreciate any information and who knows this may be that elusive John. The letter I had received from the State Library told me that they were unable to find a birth record for this child in the birth register index, this was back in January 2007. Anyway see what you can find for me please. Many thanks, Sieglinde.
