Hello List, My search continues. I now know that the Margaret lived at Franklin Street when she married a George Cole on 18th August 1852, All Saints, Hindmarsh, aged 21. She the daughter of Joseph Richardson. The SA State Library have checked the record and assure me she married George. She is supposed to have married Joshua Bird and certainly arrived with him in Nelson, NZ 24 Feb 1853. Are there any directory¹s/almanacs for 1852? Margaret¹s mother was Mary though she is not mentioned on the marriage cert. Any info no matter how small would be great, this has been a 30yr brick wall. Joshua wrote to Margaret from the Bendigo Goldfields in July 1852 hoping to be the one when he got back to Adelaide.
