Sorry Graham, Christene Pycroft and Stephanie Cocks plus a couple of others are helping me with their expertise on the 10+ year brickwall of mine, where was my G grandfather buried, which accounts for the messages on this coming from a number of people, and if they help sort this one out will be on my "Christmas card list" forever lol. My William NEWTON was born (Baptised) 16 May 1844 in Bridgetown, County Clare, Ireland and emigrated to Mount Gambier with 3 brothers and 2 sisters, their parents followed later as well to Mount Gambier. He pretty much stayed around Mount Gambier other than a short period in Murtoa VIC, then back to the Mount. I always suspected that the death details that had been posted were his, but could not prove it. Looking through the Border Watch (Mount Gambier newspaper) last night found a reference to a death notice for a William Newton around the same date. I suspected he was visiting Adelaide when he died as his Residence was shown as Glencoe, which is where he was living with his daughter before visiting Adelaide. There are dark skeletons in the closet, so I could get no information out of the older generation. Never ever discount any information, no matter how small, save it away in case it connects later. I have one who goes missing. Don't know parents but was married 1874 so roughly right age. cheers Graham Dixon (Auckland, New Zealand)
