Hi Elaine, Not sure if anyone has replied to you or not. There is a knowling family on the Susannah in 1849 according to the ships list. William Knowling and five children is mentioned. If you not familiar with this website it is www.theshipslist.com select passengers lists, enter "knowling" in australian box, and it will come up with details of the transcribed passenger list. hope this has been of some help to you.
