Hello Listers I am wondering if SKS would have an idea about why a number of living children on a SA death certificate might be annotated with an asterisk * ? I have a 1977 death certificate of a lady who is shown as having *1 living daughter when we know that she relinquished 2 daughters for adoption prior to her marriage. Does that asterisk indicate that the informant was uncertain as to whether these children were alive (as might reasonably be expected !) There is no other information on the certificate that explains this annotation. Any inspiration / information would be greatly appreciated. Kindest regards Jen in Victoria
