Hello listers Can SKS please assist me with these two people. They are CaptainRobert Girling and his daughter. On the NLA web site i came across an entry for Robert buried at Cheltenham cemetery about 26/07/1946. Unfortunately the item is not yet available to view. can some one please confirm this for me, or point me to an online site which carries this info? Now to Pheobe, I have found on NLA a number of references to this young woman in memorial notices for her mother in the Adelaide Advertiser in the 1930's as Pheobe, Pheobe Wallace Lindsay and Mrs Gordon Lindsay. The only other reference i can find for her is the following: The Sydney Morning Herald... Saturday 11 July 1908, page 12. Family Notices GIRLING June 17, at Port Pirie, South Australia the wife of Captain Robt Girling-a daughter. Can anyone assist me with confirming marriage and birth for Pheobe? Her parents were married in victoria in 1893 and i would guess that phoebe would be somewhere between then and about 1910. Sent to Bill:- Birth and Marriage for Phoebe Emma, and Emma Eugene. Did not find a 1946 death for Robert GIRLING. Also sent, Birth for Phoebe, 1908 And Phoebe's marriage to Gordon Wallace LINDSAY.. And Gordon's death, his status was M. Their ages at marriage were 27 and 19 respectively. Did not find a death for Phoebe, ? a re-marriage.
