Hello Everyone I have a conundrum / brick wall that you may be able to help with so any assistance would be appreciated I am researching the LYNCH family from Warrow / Coulta / Port Lincoln area and have had help recently from this list in the past on this family for which I am grateful. My particular problem now is the following; I am looking for a Selina LYNCH, she had a child in 1992 called Edith, she moved to Broken Hill, and had a further 2 children before being admitted to Parkside Lunatic Asylum in C 1915 where she died in 1946 aged 67 which gives her birth year of 1879. There is no birth record of a Selina LYNCH on the SA records, there is no father's name on Edith's birth record who would have been born when Selina was about 13. Her medical records from Parkside put her clearly in the Richard LYNCH / Sarah FARLEY family in Port Lincoln. The information I had received previously on this family indicated that there was a strong desire for the children to be baptised even though possibly 3 or more were not registered so I think if there was a Selina she would have been baptised I have looked at the Roman Catholic baptisms for the area and South Australia and there is no record of Selina LYNCH, there is however an Helena Mary LYNCH who was baptised in 1878 to Richard LYNCH and Sarah FARLEY. There are no records of a the marriage or death of Helena and no birth of baptism of a Selina so I am suspecting a transcription error So my question is; is there any way the original baptism record can be viewed or checked for the entry on Helena to see if it could be Selina? Would I need to go to Port Lincoln? Would it be in Latin? What other avenues could I explore? Thanks in advance Cheers Chris
