Hello, I'm trying to locate a death place for one Eliz Malone. She was Eliz Smalley m in Preston, Lancashire to a soldier, John Malone. His tour of duty took him to Ceylon, New Zealand (Maori Wars) , Sydney then South Australia. Finally he returns home and retires in Wales. In the course of his life he marries, twice, both times to an Elizabeth. His first wife went to Ceylon with him and their first child was baptised in Ceylon. According to English census the two girls to his first marriage return to England and appear on the census. Elizabeth Malone, mother, does not, or I could not find her. However, John remarries in South Australia to an Elizabeth . I could find no death in New Zealand or Sydney (NSW) or England for his first wife. I have yet to try looking in Ceylon. So I was wondering if someone could access death lists for South Australia in the period say, 1860 to 1875 for one Elizabeth Malone nee Smallie/Smalley, I would be very appreciative. Glenda

Just a thought Glenda, have you tried via Military records he would have gone via ship to those outposts and she presumably would have gone the same way, but then ? did they records all those people on passenger lists? Somewhere along the line she has to disappear, i.e. not make it onto a list. And yes I know, older military records can be pretty sparse. Good Luck & Happy Easter.
