Hi There , while I realize that Trove has just completed an Update I wondered if any one has had much success? I know it is busy but I have had few successes in getting past the initial abbreviated info to the actual article although I have set the alarm at night for all sorts of time frames but I suppose it is always going to be peak time somewhere in the world when I try. Non the less I am grateful for the resource but am chomping the bit to be able to access it. Chris in W.A.
I too have had this problem every time I tried to get into TROVE. The sorting function works well, but when you try to access the specific article all you get is the text version (warts and all) but no digital image of the original article. I've been hoping that this was only a teething issue, but it has been like this for several weeks, and the value of the site is seriously compromised. Strange - I have had no problems. There is a slight lag, but the image does appear. I have no problems accessing Trove. The appearance is definitely different and you need to access via the various icons that appear down the left hand side of the browser window. I am wondering if there is some sort of plug in that is missing from your browser that might be causing the issue? I am using the latest version of firefox. What I see is icons down the left hand side, a small panel next to the icons that has text appearing and a larger panel that shows the image. You use the icons in order to access various things such as the information icon to get the source information, the icon showing an arrow pointing down to get an image of the article to appear in a new tab. Hi Chris, I have been correcting and tagging many notices since the upgrade, and have not had any problems viewing the images of the pages. I am using Firefox, and the OCR text appears in the left pane of the browser window, and the page image in the right pane. I was concerned that many of the corrections and tags that I had added before the upgrade had been lost, but apparently it took quite some time after the upgrade before the indexing was completed. Strange, I've had no problems and like the fact that your zoom level sticks now. Just tried it again and searched for the descendant of the person I'm currently researching in England - and found an interesting article that I hadn't seen before so am very pleased.
