I ended up emailing the Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust. address.. Enquiries@gmet.com.au The Preston Cemetery IS under there management, They have implemented a new “Geographical Information System” and are currently in the process of mapping the Preston Cemetery data base, so Preston will not be available until this is completed. However they are happy to conduct a search. Recently I had need of this for the Coburg cemetery which has names but no dates, could have been quite difficult especially as mine was for a John Anderson, but I knew the date of his death so asked for him and if there was anyone else in the same plot, answer came 2 days later with a bonus with his brother Richard being in the same plot, I am not sure if I would ever had found this unless I had asked for others in the same plot.
