?Hi Kevin and Listers, I apparently didn't make it clear that the Register newspaper list from Trove and my composite passenger list appear together in my search results. For those hoping to make a direct comparison for other voyages, note that so far I have only added newspaper lists to about a third of my passenger lists. If you have a specific request for one that hasn't been done yet, let me know. Yes Kevin, the extra passenger list details were taken from BISA, the full information from the entry being: Henry Conway SEYMOUR, father Thomas, mother Jane nee THOMPSON Born 1799 Ballymore Castle GAL IRL; died 12-12-1869 Mt Benson SA, buried Robe SA Arrived 1841 Siam Occupations: barrister, pastoralist Resided at Naracoorte and Mt Barker Religion: C of E Married Eliza nee DROUGHT, IRL; father Robert, mother Eliza; born c1802, died 10-11-1885 Naracoorte SA Children: Thomas Drought 1822-97, Eliz HAWKER 1825-1901, Ellen, Robert -1895, Jane, Henry -1847, Charles c1841-1901, Susan, James Drought 1844- . None of the children's births were registered in SA. I was curious as to why Chas was in parentheses. I did take a look at Trove but was unable to find anything. Plenty of reports about Siam+arrival. If you say it's there leave it with me and I'll go into a specific issue with a specific date. Here in NZ I find that pays dividends on PapersPast. Thanks to Majella, Barry, & Steph for on and off list responses to my earlier question. I've been advised that the original passenger list of the SIAM has not survived, and that the Recorder article on 1 May 1841 is all there is. Subsequent to that there have been excellent efforts to expand the passenger list using data from other sources including BISA. Two people have forwarded those details to me. Besides the parents there were 4 children on board. All I wanted to do was to see if there was any evidence that Charles was also present. I doubt it, but he was almost certainly born in 1841 and thus born prior to civil registration in SA. I have checked the SAGHS microfiche which I believe cover births from 1 July 1842. Charles' sister Susan SEYMOUR was born in Adelaide in 1843, and their brother James Drought in 1844. Strangely neither was listed on the fiche. Thanks again for the input today from the List. Kevin
