Dear Listers I am looking for the marriage of James Pascoe, father James, to an Elizabeth Thomas. Likely to be the daughter of William Thomas and Alice James. They married before 1847, after which they had 2 children in Victoria. There is no marriage registration in Victoria. There may also be a daughter Elizabeth born to them c.1844, in SA. This couple appears to have moved around quite a bit, as they were back in Illogan, Cornwall for the 1851 Census, after some goldfields mining, and then returned to Victoria, and settled in Terang. James Pascoe was born St Austell, Cornwall, and the 1851 C. notes his wife Elizabeth was born in Bickley, Devon. Would someone be able to check for their marriage, the birth of any children, and whether there is anything in BISA for her parents, William Thomas and Alice James, who may have come from Devon? This James Pascoe is the son of James Pascoe and Alice Martin (nee Williams). Father James bpt.1787 is the son of Richard Pascoe b.1763 Sithney, carpenter and joiner of Helston, who married Hannah Rutter (1st wife, and 2nd wife was Elizabeth Vine).
