I really enjoy this list and feel I know the people who are the continual correspondents. I marvel at the time they expend to assist people ... and have been on the receiving end a number of times. It has been an interesting journey because I am researching my genetic and adopted families. Luckily, the majority are in South Australia. Unfortunately I am not. I started with birth, marriage and death certificates for the genetic side and unreliable memories for the adopted side. It is awkward researching a family you don't physically know. You find yourself skulking around corners. I love reading the 'tips' from this list as well as from some websites. The person who operates Lost Cousins has great tips. Don't want to anyway ... the insects always make a meal of me. We use 50-50 dettol and baby oil (only the recognised brands work, don't know why). Don't go in the sun after use because your skin burns.
