Weighing up the many many hours/days/weeks/months/years I have spent preparing my South Australian CDs and the costs involved [especially as I live in Melbourne], I am now in a quandary I can "look-up" and post all of the information I have on a particular person - you will be happy, but will I [as it might effect the sale of my CDs]. If I post that Mr xxx is on the CD, but do not add the extra info - what ship, how much gold, etc and then suggest you buy the CD to get the extra info, then you may well be upset SO WHAT DO I DO ???? I have answered requests from Brian, Tracey and Gwyneth but I am hesitating to answer more. I suggest that if you cannot afford the CD [which contains about 40,000 names], then ask your local Library to purchase the CD "SA Gold seekers at the Victorian goldfields 1851-1853" which had recently been reduced to half-price. visit the following website for information on a book recently published by me, to compliment the above CD. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~safpfhg/index.html ================= Greetings Tracey from Di Cummings You asked: Just wondering if anyone would have the CD - "SA Gold seekers at the Victorian goldfields 1851-1853"? Hi Di, If it makes you feel any better, here's what I do. I ask for lookups on various CDs at times and having found that there is information relevant to my research I then budget to purchase the CD. I find I like to have these resources on hand when I can as often you can find extra info just by browsing which you hadn't thought to ask for in a lookup or it wasn't practical to ask for. Like many others I can't afford to buy before 'trying' as it were (as you know this wonderful hobby of ours could consume as many dollars as we could pour into it) and I'm so glad that there are others to help. I think it's an excellent suggestion to ask libraries to purchase copies and will do so at my local library today. Keep up the great work and my best wishes to you and your helpers Eileen ----- Original Message ----- From: <dicummings2003@email.com> To: <AUS-SAGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2011 11:07 PM Subject: [AUS-SAGEN] SA Gold seekers at the Victorian goldfields 1851-1853 > AUS-SAGEN-L@rootsweb.com > Brian wrote recently: > Hello All, Could I also get a look-up for this CD please ("SA Gold seekers > at the Victorian goldfields 1851-1853")...looking for Andrew or John > Holmes > (actually any Holmes would be useful).
