Hello List, John has kindly replied to my enquiry re above and given me a couple of pointers. The 'Register' under "Shipping Notes" very often gave names of passengers. The 'Register' can be examined at the State Library in Adelaide. (Register 10 June 1850). 2 other newspapers of the time that have had references to ship arrivals are "The Adelaide Times" and "The South Australian". I found the below on Trove - "Arrived - Saturday June 8, 1850 "Lord Ashburton" etc with passengers Joseph Richardson & wife, Sarah & Margaret Richardson in steerage². May I ask if sks is going to the State Library of Adelaide to look up The Adelaide Times & The South Australian for me please for the arrival and passenger lists. I¹m trying to establish if Joseph & wife are my GG-Grandparents and Margaret my G-Grandmother. Joseph¹s wife¹s name would go a little way towards telling me whether I¹m barking up the wrong tree or not. I¹m happy to reciprocate in Sydney. Thanks a lot, Gwyneth - Sydney
