    3. Hi list- after some advice. I have a Annie Crawford age 21 marrying my great grandfather John Joseph Eldon Fox in Adelaide on 8 April 1875. Her father was listed as a James Crawford. The only Anne Crawford I could locate whose father was James was an Anne Crawford whose came over on the Bee in 1858 with her parents and sibling from Lanark, Scotland. Annie at the time of her marriage lived in Wright street, Adelaide. I really would like to confirm if the Anne on the Bee is my Annie. I have checked the Adelaide Hospital records to see if she was treated (they recorded how long in colony, and what ship) - unfortunately no Anne/ Annie went to hospital.Risk is my Annie came from interstate or on another ship. Has the list suggestions where to from here? Also would like to here from any lister who is researching the Crawfords from the Bee Kind regards Glenn from a windy Victor Harbor

    3. Hello Bob, Just thinking a better way of going about this, if of course your lady wants to, would be to write to the Ed of the 'local rag', which would be the Portside Messenger. Please refrain from replying to the test messages. Apologies for the many emails that really didnt say anything. Ros List Admin

Queries I need help with and wonder if someone can get me past “the brick wall” 1. Immigration details for sisters Lillian and Henrietta Brown between 1902-1912? 2. Name of ship? 3. Who were the rellies they came with? Surnames could be Brown or Cowton (mothers maiden name) Information I have is as follows. Sisters Lillian and Henrietta Brown came from England. Lillian married 30th October 1912 in Adelaide to James Darracott Greenwood, her sister Henrietta married Frederick William Mitchell Mincham 10th Sep 1915 in Adelaide. Family information states Lilly Brown was an orphan and came to Australia aged 16 years with an Aunt and Uncle and worked in the laundries. Lillian’s Wedding certificate states witness Henrietta Brown was living at Montefiore Hill, North Adelaide. Their mother Cecily Brown nee Cowton died 1st quarter 1893 in Hartlepool, England. 1901 census Registers Henry as living at 9 Burke Street, Old Shildren England. Wife Cecily deceased. There is a death in Hartlepool Sep 1902 of Henry Brown (maybe him). With these facts in mind I am “guessing” the sisters came to SA between 1902 and 1912 and they would have been orphans, but I need proof. There were four daughters of Henry Brown and wife Cecily Older sister Cecily Brown information “Listed in 1901 census as a servant, aged 16years, in town of Deaf Hill, with family of William Stoves aged 26 years, wife Sarah J Stoves aged 22, child Mary Stoves aged 1.” Other older sister Florence information “Florence is listed in 1901 census as an "Adopted child", living at Durham with family of William James Fisher aged 32, wife Minnie Jane Fisher aged 22, Elizabeth Allen, sister in law, aged 7, WSC Farmery, Labourer & Lodger age 42.” Of the four children, leaving Lillian and Henrietta who came to Australia after parents died.
