    3. Hello Alan, I have been able to get photos of ships, or of the paintings of ships, from the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich - do a google search for their website. And sometimes the various State Libraries have same for some of the ships that have arrived in their ports. Kindest regards ...... Corinne. From the photos recommended earlier to me he was a very busy man. Thanks as I am NSW it has been hard to confirm some notes I had. Something that may cause those combinations not to work is the FONT you are using, as some FONTS don't necessarily have ALL currency symbols in them, (or for that matter, all the symbols available in each font) so you may need to change your font to one that does have the particular currency or other type of symbol you want to use. In MS Windows if you go to CONTROL PANEL and select FONTS it will show all your installed fonts. You can then select "find a Character" (from left window pane) and in the new window that appears select any font from list and it will display all characters available in a particular font you chose. for example: Find your font and then find (in this case ) £ (GBP) symbol. Highlighting and left clicking on that symbol it will show what ALT + digits are required for that symbol to appear (in bottom right hand area of that window).     3. Hi all, Both the combinations suggested by others will work for British pound. Something that may cause those combinations not to work is the FONT you are using, as some FONTS don't necessarily have ALL currency symbols in them, (or for that matter, all the symbols available in each font) so you may need to change your font to one that does have the particular currency or other type of symbol you want to use. In MS Windows if you go to CONTROL PANEL and select FONTS it will show all your installed fonts. You can then select "find a Character" (from left window pane) and in the new window that appears select any font from list and it will display all characters available in a particular font you chose. for example: Find your font and then find (in this case ) £ (GBP) symbol. Highlighting and left clicking on that symbol it will show what ALT + digits are required for that symbol to appear (in bottom right hand area of that window). Plus multiple entries on same page some GILES and some GILL together.
