I remember it well and can confirm that all properties were acquired by the SA Govt and bulldozed because it was in the reservoir catchment area. I thik the Hotel was the last place to go, and the historic cemetery is still there, and is known as the Philptown Cemetery. Hi Helen, Ros & Freda Just to clarify a couple of things. Chain of Ponds is NOT under the Millbrook dam. The two townships that were submerged just after World War 1 were Millbrook and Sunninghill. Chain of Ponds was on the other side of the Adelaide to Mannum road spreading out towards Kersbrook. It remained a township until it was closed in the 1970s because of concerns of pollution contaminating the Millbrook dam.
