?Hi Tracey and listers, There are no duplicate copies of bdm certificates prior to those dates for the Adelaide district. Nor are there fiche or any other copies of the original (and only) certificates. Therefore, if the SAGHS index CDs/books do not have the details you require, the only way to see those early Adelaide certificates is to purchase them from the bdm. Hi Just wondering if anyone would have the CD - "SA Gold seekers at the Victorian goldfields 1851-1853"? I would like a look up if possible of Francis Jefferson. Thanks Tracey
but what a difference it makes to those who hear it. May I say THANK YOU to all who have kept this List alive and THANK YOU to all our listers who take the time out of their already busy lives to help so many who search for more about their families and THANK YOU who have helped me through this most difficult four years. It is wonderful to know that there is 'some one out there' who is prepared to 'lend an ear' and who understand what we are going through. Thanks to you, my friends, I have come through this dark patch, tired - and a bit thinner. BUT - give me a week or two more, and I'll be raring to go. THREE BOOKS - 1836, 1837, 1838 with two more to come - 1839 and 1840 and ANOTHER - to compliment my Goldseekers CD see http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~safpfhg/index.html and GOULDS now have Pioneers & Settlers 1836-1838 This work, and my friends, have kept me going. THANK YOU and may you all have a wickedly wonderful 2011. Kind regards and cheers from Di Cummings of Melbourne http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/fh/passengerlists/BoundforSouthAustralia.htm
Dear List I would like to try and find what happened to a Susannah Symes, or Syms/Simms, Sims. She was born illegitimate to Mary Smart in 1836 in Compton Pauncefoot, Somerset. Mother Mary Smart Married John Symes in 1837, and they emigrated on the barque Katherine Stewart Forbes, and arrived at Holdfast Bay on 17 Oct 1837. Are there any deaths or marriages for Susannah in South Australia. I've not found a burial or death record in the UK. Cheers, Rowena
