I have heard from Alice, they are not home in Toowoomba at present, their house has some water in it she said. She will appreciate the list thinking of them. Will let Alice know you are thinking of them all. Not quite a website, this is a free download, a UK parish locator, which I use every time I find a new family in a new place; you can calculate how far parishes are from each other, and what other parishes are in specified radiuses around a particular parish. http://www.parloc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.html I find it immensely useful, especially for the multitude of London parishes. The power is off all over the place. That includes some places in Toowoomba. Brisbane CBD is in darkness.
Hi Deb, No I haven't heard from Alice since Christmas. I hope and pray they are all OK. Hi Listers Can anyone help me find a Edward WOODFIELD and a Charles Isaac WOODFIELD, we believe they came to Australia in about 1930. I don't have much experience in Passenger lists I know Edward WOODFIELD settled in SA With Thanks Sheelagh Wiles swiles@ozemail.com.au http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/hunter2000 No virus found in this outgoing message. Hi Ros and all. am thinking how much easier it would be if you [Ros] either sent it all as a "Special List Report", or send it to me - I'll add it to that website I mentioned earlier in the week, so that everyone on the list can access the document. Either method would save you [Ros] a lot effort trying to remember who has asked, and who hasn't. Now - whilst the "Favourite Websites Challenge" is NOW CLOSED, I am sure we will all welcome any extras 'you have just' remembered - in fact - AT ANY TIME PLEASE. By the way - these last two nights I have two magpies chortling away at 11pm [Victorian time] is this usual ?? Cheers from Di Cummings of Melbourne http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/fh/passengerlists/BoundforSouthAustralia.htm
Two I missed to add to the list It may well of have been posted by someone else but to be sure It is perhaps the "_MOTHER_" of all genea references www.cyndislist.com Be careful not to type it as cyndYlist ie with a Y which is a commercial site listing and for the elusive males - someone may have a DNA profile there see WWW,ysearch.org The catchca passwords are a bit of pain but worth the effort Alan Melbourne ps could I also have a master copy please
Hi Ros, My favourites have all been listed already but may I please have a copy of the compilation please when it's convenient. Thanks Debbie, Geelong (Vic)
Dear List, I've been looking at RICHARD PASCOE and EMILY GRENFELL, who married 1874 Penzance RD. He was born 1851, Stithians, Cornwall to John Pascoe and Mary Lawry. Emily was born 1851, Towednack, Cornwall, parents Thomas Grenfell and Mary Martins. The last Census they can be located in is in 1881. Their children were: Emily, b. 1875, Gulval; John, b. 1876 Gulval; Annie Jane, b. 1877 Ludgvan; William Thomas, b. 1879Ludgvan. As a Pascoe uncle settled in South Australia, they may well have followed. Would someone be able to check on these names, for any further births, or death, marriages of children, and on BISA. This is my direct family line, so very keen to find what happened to them. Many thanks for any help that you may be able to give. Kind regards, Rowena

Hi, As a 'newbie' to the wonderful world of genealogy and this list, I am amazed at the number of web sites that I knew nothing of. I have complied my own list from the emails that have come in and can see many hours checking on them. Thank you for the challenge and the opportunity to expand my research. My favourites sites are: Trove FreeBDM Bound for S.A. ttp://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~littoral/lgamap/lg-areas/2-brsa.htm<http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~littoral/lgamap/lg-areas/2-brsa.htm> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Adelaide_history#1830s Regards, -- Peter Loveday Coolongolook, NSW 0410 913 624* *

Hi Listers, Re: Congress Website. http://www.congress2012.com.au/ After frenzied activity on the website last night, undoubtedly caused by discussion on this list, we wake this morning to find that murphy and his laws have taken charge. We find ourselves with a domain name issue with the website, which is being taken care of. For the moment the website will be temporalily unavailable. Should the issue become too long winded we will upload the site to a alternate temporary location. We will advise. Regards, Peter Applebee Congress 2012 Webmaster
Hi List members, Please dont think because I am not replying to you that I am ignoring your emails, I have been inundated with responses this last 36 hours and will endeavour to get the list out as promised after tomorrow. Cheers Ros
