    1. [AUS-SAGEN] Kruse/Williams
    2. Paula
    3. Hi Listers I have a curly one I would like some help with please. I am wondering if someone could please check for any SA births, marriages & deaths to the following couple - the only thing is they went by various last names. The couple is FREDERICK KRUSE or WILLIAMS & EMILY LOUISE nee GLEESON or WHITE or ROSENTHAL. I have located 2 of their children: Frederick Andrew Kruse - b: 1899, Gibson St, Bowden, SA. He went by Williams in his service records. (The dates of his WW1 & WW2 record are the same as the Kruse birth entry) Sydney Arnold Kruse - b: c1902, Guildford, WA. I know there was another 2 males & 1 female as per the parent's death certificates. I believe one was called Harold. It looks like the couple married under the name Kruse, then had a couple of children & then changed it to Williams, possibly, but not necessarily, to do with Frederick's step-father being a Williams. Going by the WW1 record of Frederick Andrew (now) Williams, the family were living in Drayton St, Bowden in 1917. Going by WW2 records Frederick Andrew Williams married Doreen (someone). Haven't found a marriage yet. I have found on trove newspaper mention of a Frederick A Williams who married a Sylvia R Walters. I am wondering if someone could also check this marriage out & see who the parents are, on the off chance the name on the WW2 record is wrong. Thank you for your time. Paula

    1. Re: [AUS-SAGEN] records of lighthouse keepers in South Australia
    2. Andrew Peake
    3. My understanding is that Lighhouses were taken over by the Commonwealth Government pursuant to the Australian Constitution. When they did so, post Federation in 1901, they also assumed responsibility for the records. Therefore the records are likely to be at the National Archives of Australia, hopefully Adelaide branch office. However, the Adelaide branch office is closed for the month of March as they relocate and co-locate with State Records. The actual records will move to Collingswood and the office will be with State Records in Leigh Street, Adelaide. You could also check out *South Australian History Sources*, an underused resource for South Australian records of relevance to the family historian and biographer! 3. I'm not sure which dept they were under but I think it may have been Marine and Harbours. The Maritime Museum at Pt Adelaide may have something and so could the local museums at Kangaroo Island and Pt Lincoln. They would have had to have some type of qualification what with what the job entailed and I would have thought it something similar to what a Mates ticket would have been with the additional training on the lighting and maintaining the lights. As well some of these lighthouses had a weather function as well. 3. Hello Tracey, thankyou for looking at this family for me. I see from what you sent to me, a Jessie Smith died 2 July 1963. I would like to have found out her fathers name but it only shows her dead husbands name and that she died in hospital. I will look for where they are buried and maybe a headstone might tell something. Tracey there is a Constance ROBERTSON who had children with William YOUNG but have not found a marriage for them. Would you mind looking for a death for her please..... Constance YOUNG or Constance ROBERTSON on your late death disc please. Their children were.... Claude William YOUNG born 22 Feb 1917, Jean Winifred YOUNG 1 April 1921, Winifred Florence YOUNG 13 May 1923 The Thomson name is not my family. I appreciate your help Tracey, Kind regards Deirdre.
