Hello All, I was recently involved in the production of a book about the women of Willunga who formed the Cheer Up Society as well as the Willunga WW1 soldiers. In the research for the book we required information about a few burial sites including Fawkner Cemetery and we were fortunate to make contact with Travis M Sellars (tellers@iinet.net.au). He is part of a charity and he will photograph a Melbourne headstone for a reasonable donation. We had three missing soldiers and he managed to send us photos which now appear in the book, "A Picture of Fortitude" thanks to Travis? I have now joined the SA Genealogy $ Heraldry Society and hope to contribute to the library. Best wishes Richard McCarthy Sent from my iPad > On 16 Jun 2016, at 10:18 PM, klaush via <aus-sagen@rootsweb.com> wrote: > >> On 2016-06-16 20:56, Christine Anderson via wrote: >> I have replied to Lyn, Ros and sheelagh. I have replied to Lyn, Ros and sheelagh. The records for this cemetery are not on the Aust cemetery site you are directed there but it leads no where, I have tried the great met. Hi Lyn, Had already tried your suggestions but none for Preston are coming up.I tried with the surname on the greater met cem trust but no records for Preston, not even listed on the names of cemeteries to try from.. Aust cemetery site had the same problem listed as having on line data but nothing. Hi Judy, You can find a copy of the original passenger list of the Indian in: “Genealogy Source 313: Official passenger lists of mainly immigrants arriving in SA under a UK assisted immigration scheme 1847-1886”, which is a book or on microfilm at some libraries (My local library in NSW had it on microfilm) The list for the Indian is 7 pages long and I have only saved the one page that my ancestor was on. Hi Judy, I also had family in the Indian, William Revell and his wife Sarah Ann Sims along with her mother. There are articles on Trove about the Indian as well.
