Hello Listers, I am trying to find the birthdate of my GGAunt, Lucy May McCarthy or Carty (her parents were Carty when they left Ireland and then Liverpool on 12 June 1839 on the sailing ship, "Lady Lilford". I understand that Lucy was born in 1853 of 1854 at Adelaide and died at Merino on 1 August 1919. On 25 June 1873, Lucy married Charles Cameron Kingston and was 20 years old. A search for a birth record has not been successful. Any help would be appreciated. Best wishes, Richard McCarthy Sent from my iPad

Hi list- looking for some assistance. My investigative skills have failed to find a lead to the following:- Shirley was born in Adelaide in 1924. She gave birth to a daughter Helen Margaret in the early 1950's. We believe Helens father was Kevin White. Some time time later Shirley married Ken Walter who adopted Helen. Im not sure if Shirley was married to Kevin White I cant find a marriage of Shirley to Ken Walter I cant find any birth in the early- mid 1950's of a Helen Margart with the surname White or Walter in Adelaide Where do i start... kind regards Glenn

Good evening, I was wondering if anyone could please assist. I am putting together my husband's family tree and am a little stuck on the German families that came to South Australia. 1. Friedrich Heinrich Ludwig OBERIN aka Frederick Henry OBERIN Born 21 April 1842 in Hanover, Germany Arrived in Australia before his Marriage to wife Elizabeth Maria NEIVANDT/NEIWAND on 25 Jan 1873 in Bendigo, Victoria Their children were all born after this date in and around Bendigo. I am unable to locate his arrival in Australia - I am not sure if he travelled alone or with family as I have no further information about them either. I am focusing on arrival in South Australia as this is where his wife is from - thinking they met here. Also searching for information about the arrival of the parents of his wife Elizabeth NEIVANDT/NEIWAND 2. Elizabeth and her many siblings were born after 1856 in Hahndorf, South Australia Her parents names were: Andreas Konrad NEIVAND/NEIWAND - also know as Andrew born 24 May 1822 Hanover, Germany Eleanor Harriet JENKINSON born 20 Aug 1825 Dunganstown, Wicklow, Ireland They married on 09 Apr 1855 in Blakiston, South Australia. Bill I don't know about rights but the daughter of my great aunt died when reasonably young and she was buried in the paddock about 200 metres from my aunt's homestead. We have actually been there and they used the route iron cot to surround the grave. My dad use to say so the "foxes could not dig the baby up". I have been doing some Scottish research and mention was made of people being baptised well into adulthood because ministers (in this case a bishop) made visits to such remote regions very infrequently. This made me wonder about remote SA deaths. If someone died and was buried, might their burial rites be performed whenever the minister visited, no matter how much later? And then, would it get written up by that minister in his register? Anyone have examples of this? Thank you Bill
