Hi Richard, If you can't find the birth of Lucy as I guess with the surname of McCarthy Maybe the reason, I guess they were Catholics and not all births were registered with S A Births, I have found. They would have the children baptised and that would be it.! Frustrating I know as I have found that with my Catholic family trees. I don't know if you can still check with the Catholic Archives in Adelaide or not.? Worth enquiring into.
