    3. Hi Listers I am brand new to this list, and am wondering if anyone on this list shares the following or some of the following surnames in their family tree(s): Herman APPELKAMP m. Josephine WUNDENBERG, (many variation to the spelling of her surname). Fathers: Wilhelm APPELKAMP and Henri or Heinrich Frederick WUNDENBERG, (sic). Hermann and Josephine had three known children: Hermann Joseph (John); Josephine Gisina Antionette Hermine, (many variations to these names), and Fredrich Wilhelm (Edward). The three children in turn married, Elizabeth Jane GIDDINGS, Henry HARVEY and Alice Maud RHUE, (also spelt as RUE; her father - Walter RHUE and mother - Ann Rebecca WRIGHT). Also Richard IVEY m. Elizabeth THOMAS, had a son, Alfred IVEY b. Moonta East 1878, m. Johanna Mary RYAN, Boulder, WA in 1905, and had a son William Dennis IVEY - Mother died shortly after birth of child; and a daughter, Dorsetta Dorcas Jane Adeline IVEY b. Moonta East 1882. Dorsetta m. 1901 in Broken Hill to Frederick Zegler, (sic), FRAZER. Dorsetta and Frederick had three known children, sons, all born in New South Wales; these sons married in the early to middle 1930's in South Australia. I would love to hear from anyone who shares the same surnames and / or family structures with a mind to sharing and expanding upon the genealogies above Eddie Tricker

    1. [AUS-SAGEN] Further information re LYNCH family request
    2. Chris Jefferys
    3. Dear List I have had a very prompt answer from Stephanie who provided me with at lot of information which I omitted to mention in my original message (see below) that I had already obtained so she did a lot of work which was unnecessary for which I have apologised directly to her. So just to clarify, I have all the SA BDM records plus any NSW information about this family; I have the medical records from Parkside Lunatic Asylum, I believe I have exhausted the Catholic baptism register so my question to the list with their collective knowledge was where do I go now? How do I clarify the Helena / Selina conundrum, should I just say it's a definite or can I dig further and where would I go for that? Again my thanks Chris _____ From: Chris Jefferys [mailto:ohagan@internode.on.net] Sent: Sunday, 18 July 2010 9:53 AM To: 'aus-sagen@rootsweb.com' Subject: Help Please Port Lincoln Baptisms LYNCH Hello Everyone I have a conundrum / brick wall that you may be able to help with so any assistance would be appreciated I am researching the LYNCH family from Warrow / Coulta / Port Lincoln area and have had help recently from this list in the past on this family for which I am grateful. My particular problem now is the following; I am looking for a Selina LYNCH, she had a child in 1992 called Edith, she moved to Broken Hill, and had a further 2 children before being admitted to Parkside Lunatic Asylum in C 1915 where she died in 1946 aged 67 which gives her birth year of 1879. There is no birth record of a Selina LYNCH on the SA records, there is no father's name on Edith's birth record who would have been born when Selina was about 13. Her medical records from Parkside put her clearly in the Richard LYNCH / Sarah FARLEY family in Port Lincoln. The information I had received previously on this family indicated that there was a strong desire for the children to be baptised even though possibly 3 or more were not registered so I think if there was a Selina she would have been baptised I have looked at the Roman Catholic baptisms for the area and South Australia and there is no record of Selina LYNCH, there is however an Helena Mary LYNCH who was baptised in 1878 to Richard LYNCH and Sarah FARLEY. There are no records of a the marriage or death of Helena and no birth of baptism of a Selina so I am suspecting a transcription error So my question is; is there any way the original baptism record can be viewed or checked for the entry on Helena to see if it could be Selina? Would I need to go to Port Lincoln? Would it be in Latin? What other avenues could I explore? Thanks in advance Cheers Chris

    3. Hi Michael, I have checked the BISA, there are no entries for ROSE, Robert that 'fit. There is an entry for a Robt Alexr par : Cath b c 1842, wondering if this means anything to you at all? ROSE Robt Alexr par: Cath b: c1842 d: 26.4.1906 bd: Dublin SA m: Anne nee LOVEDAY b: c1842 d: 14.1.1911 ch: Alexr I have checked both the pre civil marriage (in the hope that I might find a father for Robert which might help) and 1842-1916 marriages with no success. Do you have a marriage date? Also checked 1842-1906 births but nothing there. Do you have any more clues that might help...
