    1. [AUS-SAGEN] Thomas Breakell 1850 & family lookups
    2. Doug Norton
    3. Thomas Breakell arrived 1850 to SA - married and then left for Vic. He came back to SA and settled in Glen Ormiston. Between a cousin and myself we have conflicting information so if someone can do some lookups/checking please. Marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth ? in 1850. I have 4 daughters and 2 sons - Janet Francis - 16/10/1862 married in WA Edith Elizabeth - 14/10/1864 - married and moved to Vic Mary Adelaide 6/4/1872 - died 2/8/1890 (From what if anyone can tell me) Horatio John - 15/02/1874 - moved to WA Gertrude Elsie - 24/03/1874 this is wrong - moved to WA and married Thomas Edwin - 8/4/1876 - died Adelaide 15/02/1949 There is reference to 5 daughters so are we missing one (who?) and what is the correct date for the 1874 births of Horatio and Gertrude. Does SA records show cause of death. Doug and Val Norton Hamilton New Zealand

    1. [AUS-SAGEN] Henry Shugg - Shipping
    2. Rowena Gough
    3. Just to let folks know and ensure that this is in the archive, kind lister Rhonda found the shipping record under Mr Shegg and family. How do I know? Well, Shegg is not a name found in Cornwall or the UK, and the date fits a tight timeframe between the birth of his children in the UK and South Australia. Daughter Julia was born 1 Dec 1849 Helston, and died at 10 months of age on 3 Nov 1850 in Adelaide. This is also the last Shugg emigration ship into South Australia that remained unaccounted for. Link below: http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/fh/passengerlists/1850Julindur.gif Ship: Julindur, 1850 from London, Gravesend 27 Dec 1849 via Plymouth 6 Jan 1850 with Captain H. Burns, arrived Port Adelaide on 16 Apr 1850. No detail on the ships list, just "Shegg, Mr and family". Yay, this is fabulous, and I'm very excited. Cheers, Rowena In Melbourne (on a cold, wet winters day)

    1. [AUS-SAGEN] William Henry BURGESS, b 1858 NZ / Thomas Alfred BURGESS, b 1862 NZ,
    2. Migs Eder
    3. Greetings Listers Winifred Callaghan, 14-year-old Irish Famine orphan, was shipped to Australia on the Maria in 1850. (End of the Earl Grey scheme.) She married (Cornishman) Master Mariner Richard Plummer Burgess, who drowned off New Zealand in 1863. I’m missing two of Win’s children, last seen in a NZ orphanage. William Henry Burgess, b 1858, and Thomas Alfred Burgess, b 1862, "went back to Australia and Ireland” family legend says. The next generation, born about 1890 – 1920, should have family names Richard, Winifred, possibly Gertrude, and the usual Mary-Thomas-William- Henrys. If you have these names in your Burgess tree, please contact me a migseder@clear.net.nz I descend from Win and Richard's oldest son, Richard Henry, who stayed in NZ. A younger daughter Elizabeth married John Hiles in NSW, and I've traced her family. Many thanks for any ideas on where I can find either of my missing lads. - Migs Eder, Christchurch, New Zealand.
