Could SKS please check the 2nd SA death CD for the death of Mary Rosman, wife of Trevor Rosman. It will be after 1938, but not sure if it is before 1971. -Nikki
Thankyou to all listers who have helped me in the past. I have moved on with my family tree and have found that a different family on a different branch possibly settled in South Australia. The information I have is that an Isaac BETHELL bn 1835 Nettleton England worked in Australia as a carpenter. In 1857 ( The same Year that his brother my GGGgrandfather left England For NZ ) he married a Sarah HAWKINGS bn 1838 They had two children that I know of a Mary Ann bn 1859 in South Australia then puzzlingly a Abraham Isaac bn 5 July 1860 Kings Head Farm Nettelton. Is Nettleton an area of SA? Is this a farm in SA? It is the same name as one of the family farms in Nettleton England. Any information that can be added will be helpful. Even just confirming the births and maybe a death would be great. Or maybe there is someone else researching this line. Thanking you in advance Peter
The SAGHS site at > http://www.saghs.org.au/graves.htm < does show a John Russell SANDERS notice for 2005 , but they dont give any further information than year of advert. Ryerson Index at : > http://ryersonindex.net/search.php < and entering John Russell SANDERS gives 3 entries. BUT I suspect neither give you any more than what you already have. You havent said where you are located, ie SA or elsewhere, So: It is possible to go to the SA State Library and look through microfilm/fiche of previous editions of Adelaide Advertiser, but one would naturally have to go in person. Deaths classifieds are shown on : > http://community.classifieds.adelaidenow.com.au/?q=sanders&sc=community < but they appear to be only very recent ones. No Emigration Society tickets for these settlers on these three trips. I do see some more in future lists, eg. October. The settlers who arrive really late in the season must be joining family because there would be no time left in the season to be settled in time for a Canadian or a Northern US winter. In the 20th trip, I think anybody searching for McDonnell's in this time frame will be rather happy ... the 21st trip has Scots too, so we should be able to match them to ships arriving at Quebec after we get the newspapers. These are the rest of the Assisted British passenger lists to South Australia for 1860. The first two have emigrants from a real variety of residences ... quite a few Welsh and some Scots too. The VERULAM is a bit of an oddball for "assisted" with very few passengers and sailing from London. Next time we visit British assisted lists it will be for 1862 as there were none for 1861 ... they aren't missing, there was just no assisted emigration to South Australia for 1861. Hi Susie, Yes, the Sunday Mail has a Can you help? column, which includes Family History. I can't see a specific address for it but the paper's email address is mailedit@sundaymail.com.au By the way before I moved back to SA I attended your excellent genealogy course in Geelong, I think your first one. Hope you get some responses. Hi, I googled and found this - THOMPSON, William died 10.03.1904 Advertiser Saturday 12 March 1904 Mr. W Thompson died at his residence, Terminus Hotel, Glenelg,on Thursday night.
